I am not your jukebox

DJ's have been saying this for years but some party-goers and club owners/promoters don't seem to understand what it means. DJ's are hired to create the vibe by playing music to keep people dancing. buying drinks, and most of all have a great time! It get's annoying when people bombard the DJ booth with a grocery list of requests.

Here is where it becomes unbearable. I was spinning a Reggae set and the ladies were on the dance floor. I was 3 songs in and somebody asked me if I can play a Taylor Swift song. REALLY? Taylor Swift right now while I am playing Shabba Ranks? Had I played this request the ladies on the dance floor would have looked at me like I was crazy and left the party. Now imagine that happening every other 5 minutes.
